An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.3 was registered in the northern part of Chile, TASS reported, referring to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center, BTA informed.
He reported that the strong earthquake occurred at a depth of 128 kilometers below the earth's surface, with an epicenter 43 kilometers southeast of the village of San Pedro de Atacama.
So far, there are no reports of injured people or material damage, nor has a tsunami warning been issued.
Chile is located in a highly seismic region and earthquakes occur frequently in the country, some of which cause damage and casualties.
