Tamerlan Eskerkhanov, convicted in the case of the murder of politician Boris Nemtsov, was released early from the colony and sent to the war zone in Ukraine, an informed source told the Moscow City News Agency.
„Eskerkhanov has been serving in the Special Military Operation zone since March, more than five months, a contract was signed with him for a period of one year,” said the source of the agency, specifying that Eskerkhanov serves as a stormtrooper.
After the contract expires, Eskerkhanov will be released. His official prison sentence expires in five years.
In July 2017, the Moscow District Military Court (MOVS) sentenced Zaur Dadaev to 20 years in a penal colony, deprived him of the military rank of lieutenant and the state award of the Order of Courage, Anzor Gubashev - 19 years of imprisonment in a maximum security colony, Shadid Gubashev - 16 years of imprisonment with serving a sentence in a maximum security colony.
Tamerlan Eskerkhanov was sentenced to 14 years of imprisonment to be served in a high-security colony and stripped of his military rank, and Khamzat Bahaev was sentenced to 11 years in a high-security colony.
In addition, all those convicted received a fine of 100 thousand rubles as an additional punishment, as well as restriction of freedom for a period of two years after serving the main punishment. Later, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation overturned the fines for all those convicted.
According to the investigators, the alleged organizer of the murder, Ruslan Mukhudinov, offered the defendants in the case, who do not have a permanent source of income, a monetary reward of at least 15 million rubles. Zaur Dadaev is considered the direct perpetrator of Boris Nemtsov's murder.
Boris Nemtsov was killed on the evening of February 27, 2015, while walking with Ukrainian model Anna Duritskaya on the Bolshoi Moskvoretsky Bridge. Several shots were fired at the politician and he died on the spot.
