US President Joe Biden said on Tuesday that his government is considering lifting the ban on the use of US-supplied long-range weapons from Ukraine, Reuters reported, citing BTA.
The United States has reservations about supplying weapons that can be used to strike deep into Russian territory, and about authorizing the use of those weapons.
Kiev's allies have been supplying Ukraine with similar weapons, but have imposed restrictions on how and when they can be used to strike Russian territory, as there are fears such strikes could trigger a response that would involve countries from NATO in the conflict or become the cause of a nuclear conflict, notes Reuters.
Reuters has information that the United States is considering providing Ukraine with long-range weapons, but this will take several months, as time is needed to resolve technical issues before delivery.
