An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 was registered in Chile, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center reported.
According to the information, the epicenter was 35 km northeast of the city of Coquimbo, where about 161 thousand people live. The source was at a depth of 38 km.
There were no reports of casualties or damage.
