Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that his brief meeting with former US President Donald Trump, which took place on the sidelines of Pope Francis' funeral at the Vatican a week ago, was the "best" the two leaders have had so far. This was reported by the "Reuters" agency, reports News.bg.
Zelensky indicated that the two agreed that a 30-day ceasefire between Kiev and Moscow is the right first step towards achieving peace in the ongoing war in Ukraine.
The Ukrainian president also noted that during the conversation he raised the issue of sanctions against Russia, and Trump's reaction on the subject was, in his words, “very strong”. However, he did not provide details about the content of the response.
