A long-term solution to the Ukrainian crisis cannot be achieved solely through a ceasefire or by stopping hostilities along the line of contact. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an article for the magazine "International Relations", quoted by RIA-Novosti, reports Focus.
„I would like to thank my Vietnamese friends for their balanced position on the issue of the Ukrainian settlement. "A long-term solution to this problem cannot be achieved only through a ceasefire or cessation of hostilities along the line of contact," Lavrov wrote in the text titled "Russia and Vietnam: 75 Years of Friendship, Trust and Mutual Assistance."
According to him, it is necessary to eliminate the "root causes" of the conflict in order to achieve a sustainable settlement of the situation.
