At least 13 people were injured after a car ploughed into a crowd gathered before a football match between „Espanyol“ and FC „Barcelona“ in the Spanish capital of Catalonia - Barcelona. The incident occurred in the area in front of the „RKD Espanyol“ stadium, Reuters reports, News.bg reports.
According to police, the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a group of fans who had gathered at the start of the match. Authorities specify that the incident did not threaten the safety of those present at the stadium and there are no indications of a terrorist attack act.
The regional president of Catalonia, Salvador Illa, said that all the victims had minor injuries and confirmed that there were no signs that the accident was intentional.
The driver was arrested at the scene on suspicion of dangerous driving and causing bodily harm.
