Orban and Szijjarto: No, no and no! Corrupt Ukraine's EU membership is the biggest threat to a peaceful Hungary

According to Hungarian leaders, this could plunge their country into war and turn it into a mafia nest

A hasty accession of Ukraine to the European Union would pose a threat to Hungary's national interests and should not be allowed.

This was stated by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban at a meeting of the leadership and activists of the ruling party "Fidesz - Hungarian Civic Union" in Budapest, called "Fight Club".

"Ukraine's EU membership is the biggest threat", said the Prime Minister. He believes that "Ukraine needs additional money and therefore wants to join the European Union at any cost".

However, Hungary is not interested in this. "We don't want them to turn the safest country in Europe into a mafia nest and we don't want Hungarian money to flow to Ukraine via Brussels. No, no, no", Orbán said.

Ukraine should not be accepted into the European Union because it is the most corrupt country in Europe and will become a source of crime for the rest of the community. This was stated at the meeting by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations of Hungary, Péter Szijjártó.

"Ukraine is the most corrupt country in Europe, which is at war. This is a country from which hundreds of thousands of workers would flood the Hungarian labor market. If we let them into the European Union, it will become a place where the Ukrainian mafia will emerge," the Hungarian foreign minister said live on national television.

He also noted that the hasty accession of Ukraine to the EU, which Brussels advocates, would lead to a direct military clash with Russia. "They want to push Ukraine to join the European Union and us to a war of the Ukrainian-European Union with Russia," Szijjártó warned, referring to EU leaders.

The minister stressed that Ukraine was not ready to join the community "in any aspect".
