Europe must increase investment in the space industry and become stronger on space defense issues in the face of the Russian threat.
This was stated by French President Emmanuel Macron, speaking at the Le Bourget international air show near Paris.
"Europe must become a space power again, with France at the center of this process, above all from a military point of view," Macron said.
"Russia has become an existential threat to us Europeans, we must reconsider our approaches to security issues. And that means we must increase investment in space. And we will act more quickly and decisively in the field of space defense."
According to the French leader, "Europe must have the ability to conduct space surveillance, react quickly and deter the enemy".
