The Turkish Foreign Ministry has issued an official statement condemning the bombing of an Orthodox church in Damascus and announcing that Ankara will continue to support the normalization of the situation in Syria, Anadolu Agency reported, quoted by BTA.
Yesterday, the Syrian Interior Ministry said that a member of the jihadist group "Islamic State" carried out a suicide bombing in a church in Damascus. According to the Syrian Civil Defense, at least 20 people were killed and 52 others were injured in the incident.
“This attack is aimed at efforts to establish stability and security in Syria and aims to disrupt public peace“, said the Turkish Foreign Ministry in a statement, emphasizing that Turkey will continue to support efforts to “normalize the situation in Syria and fight against terrorist groups that are trying to create chaos in the country”.
