US President Donald Trump has called for keeping oil prices low, Reuters reported. His remarks come amid concerns that the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East could lead to a sharp rise in the price of crude, BTA reports.
“Everyone, keep oil prices low, I'm watching! Otherwise you're playing to the enemy - don't do it!“, Trump wrote in all caps on his social network Truth Social.
The publication was preceded by another post addressed to the Department of Energy, in which Trump demanded the immediate resumption of offshore oil and gas drilling. In doing so, he is clearly criticizing the restrictions introduced by President Joe Biden's administration.
