Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that the damage caused to Iran's nuclear sites as a result of the 12-day war with Israel is “serious”. According to him, Tehran has begun an official assessment of the damage, AFP reported, BTA reports.

“Experts from the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran are conducting a detailed analysis of the damage“, Araghchi said in an interview with Iranian state television.

He added that the issue of compensation is already on the country's diplomatic agenda.

“These damages are serious, and while technical studies are underway, key political decisions are being made,“ the foreign minister stressed.

US President Donald Trump has repeatedly stated that airstrikes by US forces on Iranian nuclear sites - in support of ally Israel - have “destroyed“ key facilities in Tehran.
