Perhaps Donald Trump's opponents are right when they say the Kremlin really does have influence in the White House

Europe must outsmart Russia so it can never take over Ukraine

While the world watches Iran and admires US military superiority, Russian President Vladimir Putin quietly expands his attacks on Sumy and Kharkiv and continues to shell civilian cities in Ukraine, writes Hamish de Bretton-Gordon for The Telegraph.

"There was a misguided hope that after the US president apparently secured a ceasefire between Israel and Iran, as well as a proposed cessation of hostilities between Israel and Hamas, we would see him turn his erratic deal-making ways back to Ukraine. Unfortunately, this does not seem to be the case, as the US has announced that it will stop arms supplies to Ukraine," the author of the article points out.

He recalls that the United States has already provided Ukraine with military aid worth about $ 66 billion. According to Bretton-Gordon, no matter what excuses the White House uses, no one will believe that the most powerful military machine on Earth is out of ammunition.

"This is a sign that President Trump is at least interested in appeasing the "America First" movement, which brought him to power for the second time. He may believe he has already done enough as a peacemaker in the Middle East to win the coveted Nobel Peace Prize, and he does not want to get involved again in the seemingly intractable war between Ukraine and Putin," the observer commented.

According to Bretton-Gordon, perhaps Donald Trump's opponents are right when they say that the Kremlin does have influence in the White House.

"Of course, Trump scolded Putin like a naughty but beloved child, and his close advisers seemed closer and friendlier to the Russian tyrant than to the Ukrainian president, who is trying to save his own nation," the author notes.

The publication states that this once again proves that Europe is the one who should help Ukraine reach a fair peace agreement with Russia.

"This is not unreasonable, but "and the combined military power of European countries far exceeds that of Russia. We must act knowing that Putin respects strength and exploits weakness. Europe has the financial and industrial power to easily outmaneuver the Kremlin and make it clear that it will never be able to conquer Ukraine," Bretton-Gordon said.
