Ukraine shoots down 117 of 157 drones in Russian attack tonight

Ukraine's air defense forces neutralized 117 of 157 drones launched by Russia in an attack that began yesterday evening, Ukrinform reported, quoted by BTA.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported this on Telegram.

The attack began at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 5. Russia launched four S-300 surface-to-air missiles from the Kursk region, along with 157 "Shahed" attack drones and various types of decoy drones from several directions.

By 8:30 a.m. Today, air defense systems have neutralized 117 Russian drones in the northern, eastern, southern and central regions of Ukraine. Of these, 98 were shot down with fire, and 19 were lost or suppressed by electronic warfare.

Drone strikes were recorded in 19 locations, with debris from downed UAVs falling in two more areas.

The Ukrainian Air Force noted that the air attack is still ongoing, with new groups of enemy drones entering from the north.
