A magnitude 4.0 earthquake shook the area near Naples in southern Italy this morning, the European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) reported, Focus reports.
The epicenter of the quake was at a depth of 3 kilometers, about 10 kilometers west of Naples and 182 kilometers east-southeast of Rome. The earthquake was recorded at 08:22 local time (9:22 Bulgarian time).
Almost at the same time, a magnitude 2.1 earthquake also affected the area near Bologna in northern Italy. According to EMSC, its epicenter was at a depth of 30 kilometers, about 34 kilometers from Bologna.
There are currently no reports of injuries or material damage.
