Cambodia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation spokesman Nong Sakal expressed gratitude on behalf of the country to international partners for their role in reaching the ceasefire agreement and for the timely humanitarian assistance provided to victims of the recent border clashes with Thailand. This was reported by the Cambodian news agency AKP, BTA reports.

“I would like to express Cambodia's appreciation for the position of United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who stated yesterday that the United States continues to closely monitor and observe the situation along the Cambodia-Thailand border“, Sakal said at a press conference this morning.

He added that the country highly appreciates President Donald Trump's initiative to assist in the implementation of the ceasefire agreement and for Washington's active participation in the process.

The Cambodian spokesman also thanked the European Union for providing emergency humanitarian assistance in the amount of 700,000 euros (about 816,000 dollars) for the most affected communities along the border. "Cambodia appreciates this timely assistance from the EU, which remains both an important development partner and a strategic partner of ASEAN," he stressed.

In addition to the EU, the country has also received humanitarian support from China and Japan to help the population affected by the conflict.
