In Washington, they hope to reach an agreement on a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine by the end of 2025, said the US President's special envoy Steve Witkoff.

"We have technical teams working on this issue, and we hope that by the end of this year, and maybe a little earlier, we will find the necessary "components" of this peace agreement“, Witkoff said in an interview with Fox News, Focus reports.

He noted that, as Russian President Vladimir Putin told US President Donald Trump in Alaska, Russia is seeking to find ways to resolve the conflict and did not rule out that Kiev may agree to the proposals received from Moscow.

Witkoff believes that Trump has “enough leverage“, he really wants to end the conflict and wants to do everything possible to “bring the two sides closer together, and if that doesn't work, force them to come closer together“.

According to the special envoy, Washington understands that all issues related to the conditions for resolving the conflict will have to be resolved, including the issue of security guarantees for Kiev.

Witkoff also stated that this week he intends to meet with representatives of the Ukrainian side in New York, and the dialogue between representatives of the US and the Russian side continues "daily".
