The extraordinary BRICS summit in a video conference format, convened at the initiative of Brazil, has ended. The meeting of the leaders of the community lasted 90 minutes, the parties discussed strengthening the economic partnership in response to the US tariff measures.
According to the press service of the President of Brazil, the BRICS association “reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining and strengthening multilateralism, as well as to reforming international institutions“.
“The meeting also served as an opportunity to exchange views on how to counter the risks associated with the resumption of unilateral measures, including in international trade, and how to expand mechanisms for solidarity, coordination and trade between the BRICS countries, the statement said.
