Jaguar is planning a complete electrification of its model range. However, the 2025 electrification plan turned out to be a little ambitious - the zero-emission models are not yet ready, and this forced the suspension of sales of Jaguar-branded cars in the home market until 2026.
Jaguar Land Rover announced its “Reimagine“ almost four years ago, which aimed to “reimagine Jaguar as an all-electric luxury brand from 2025 to realize its unique potential”. However, it has now become known that Jaguar has stopped selling new cars with conventional engines in the domestic market.
Earlier, the company discontinued the E-Pace, XE, XF and F-Type models, and now the automaker has also given up on the F-Pace. Autocar journalists have received an official statement from JLR stating that from November 2024 sales of new Jaguars will cease.
Cars are still being produced for other markets, but they too will soon be discontinued. The first electric car since the rebrand is expected to rival the Porsche Taycan, while an SUV to rival the Bentayga will arrive in 2026.
Both will be based on Jaguar's specialized electrified architecture, which will also underpin a large sedan that will debut later this decade. Jaguar also plans to introduce a luxury four-door GT worth €130,000. The company's managing director recently admitted that the move to an all-electric range was a "big disappointment".
For now, the company's plan is for the brand to enter ultra-luxury territory and sell fewer cars at a higher price. However, the first electric model is unlikely to go on sale in the UK until late 2026, so Jaguar won't be selling any new cars in the UK for more than a year.
