Honda has dramatically unveiled its near-production SUV 0 - a car designed to shake up the electric SUV landscape and directly challenge the Tesla Model Y. Surprisingly, Formula 1 champion Max Verstappen, a key figure in Honda's racing partnership, showed off the car to eager fans at the Japanese Grand Prix, underscoring the brand's drive for performance.
The SUV 0, a similar model to the equally radical Concept 0, heralds the arrival of Honda's dedicated “Series 0“ - a ground-up electric car initiative built on the principles of “Thin, Light and Smart”. This philosophy is expressed in a specially developed electric vehicle platform, a slim battery pack - all designed to create cars with striking aesthetics and optimized interior space.

Visually, the 0 SUV stands out from conventional designs. Its sleek, aerodynamic front contrasts sharply with the body-hugging, utilitarian rear, prioritizing interior volume and cargo capacity. The screen-dominated dashboard, powered by Honda's new Asimo OS, promises a truly immersive and personalized digital experience.

Named after Honda's iconic humanoid robot, the Asimo OS will organize everything from driver assistance and autonomous functions to entertainment, all delivered via seamless over-the-air updates. Honda's cutting-edge chassis control system, using 3D gyroscopic sensors, aims to provide drivers with unparalleled handling and stability on a variety of road surfaces.
A new generation of rear-wheel and all-wheel drive powertrains is in development, ranging from 241 hp to the powerful 480 hp, with both the 0 SUV and 0 expected to offer these performance variants. Production of the Honda 0 SUV will begin next year, with North America leading the way. European and Japanese markets.
