Romanians spend 1,000 EUR per person on a holiday in Europe at Easter - 1

For this year's Easter holidays, Romanian tourists have chosen to book their holidays online. For an exotic destination, tourists set aside a budget of around 2,300 EUR per person, and for destinations in Europe, the average price is around 1,000 EUR per person.

„We notice that more and more tourists are opting for online bookings, with the Easter holidays being the peak so far. If we look at the data, compared to last year, at this point we are approaching a 50% increase, which comes on the back of a generous offer that includes several destinations available on both platforms, at lower prices than when booked on the classic way, but also thanks to the many travel options. Interestingly, requests for Easter have already started to appear during the Christmas and New Year holidays, which confirms to us that Romanians are returning to a much better planned market behavior, explains Ana Maria Gerasim, sales director of travel agency Eturia, quoted from Forbes.ro.

If a list were made of Romanians' preferences for holiday destinations during the Easter period, Madeira was at the top of the European destinations, followed by France, Spain and Iceland. There is also increased interest in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Jamaica, but also in the smaller islands in this area such as: Aruba, Curaçao, the Bahamas. For the Indian Ocean, demand is polarized towards destinations such as the Maldives, Seychelles, Mauritius, Indonesia. The Romanians fondly chose Thailand and Malaysia, with a stop in Singapore, but they are also turning their attention to the USA.
