Traffic on the main road E-79 near Simitli is nightmarish on today's holiday , which is also the finale of the series of holidays for Easter and St. George's Day.

Those familiar with the detours near Simitli after the gorge take the municipal road through the village of Cherniche, Simitli and the village of Zheleznitsa to avoid the traffic jam.

Residents of four municipalities: Simitli, Kresna, Razlog and Bansko, in a petition, request the extension of the “Struma“ highway. with 500 meters to reach Simitli. The goal is to separate the two streams merging here - the one from the Ilinden, Bansko and Razlog border crossings with the one from the Kulata-Promahon and Sandanski border crossings.
