Nadezhda Yordanova: It is unlikely that the third mandate will come to us, the president has a negative attitude towards PP-DB

"The voters have given us a clear signal that we must do better when we form governing majorities. We must carefully choose our partners and seek a mandate for such administrations.

This is what PP-DB People's Representative Nadezhda Yordanova, former Minister of Justice, told bTV.

"The responsibility for forming a cabinet rests with GERB. In the 49th National Assembly, they broke a working formula without a clear plan for the future. Now we see that GERD has no plan. We do not see what working formula can be offered. It is possible GERB, DPS and "There is such a people” to form a government, but it seems that even with this formula, things creak”, she explained.

"The election results gave PP-DB the role of opposition. This is the will of the people, we accept it with responsibility. When you have clear priorities, you can seek support from all formations. A majority is needed to pass a particular proposal. Of course, we will talk to everyone”, Yordanova said.

According to her, the only proposal from GERB at the moment is for a prime minister and two ministries, which is not accepted by PP-DB.

"There are many "ifs" in the ITN formula for an expert cabinet. PP-DB will support these laws that are important for the country. The responsibility for the government lies with the mandate holder, Yordanova specified.

"The situation is such that early elections this year are not excluded. As politicians, we refuse to accept the realities that we must form workable solutions that are not oriented around positions, but solutions to the crises that society sees. We must eradicate the corruption model. We need to prepare the state for the transition to the digital age. "The politicians have grabbed each other's throats and are pushing people away," she commented.

"It is unlikely that the third term will come to us. President Radev has repeatedly shown that he has a negative attitude towards our political power. Let's recall how Nikolay Denkov's mandate was handed over – with the wish that it will not be fulfilled”, added the People's Representative.

PP-DB submitted a bill for changes to the Whistleblower Protection Act.

"He aims to fix a handicap that we allowed in the 49th National Assembly. We have an opinion from the EC that the adopted law does not provide the necessary protection. I hope our colleagues will support us”, specified Nadezhda Yordanova and said that because of this, Bulgaria cannot receive a new payment under the Recovery and Sustainability Plan.
