For an unusual solution to the problem of BNT reports the drought.
In three days, the Sofia District Waterworks replaced more than half a kilometer of water supply after a month-long water regime in the Sofia village of Thompson.
How long there will be water in the village, however, is still unclear due to the drought. The water supply itself turned out to be built literally next to the road.
The problems in the village of Thompson began exactly a month ago - on August 8, when the municipality of Svoge announced a water regime. However, it is observed only at the beginning, then the water is released surprisingly as in the upper parts of the village it never reaches.
"We are waiting, there is nothing to do, we drag bottles, tubes and so on".
"The last few days there are no water carriers, and it's just terrible".
"Everyone says the villages are dying, how come they won't die".
Besides the lack of water, the villagers face another difficulty.
"The bigger problem is that information is not reaching us from anywhere. All kinds of opinions are passed on by word of mouth. This one heard from somewhere, saw, understood", said Marijana Staneva.
We also reached out to Thompson's mayor for comment, but after the initial conversation, in which he explained that the drought was to blame for the drought, he stopped answering the phone. Meanwhile, it was immediately clear that the water had been released, people began to stretch.
"Do you think old people have Facebook, they don't. We understand and tell them that the water carrier will pass in such and such hours. On Thursday evening, I draw water at 11 o'clock, is this normal, the next day I am at work, in the 21st century", commented Valery Tomov.
Because of the old network in the settlement, there have been frequent accidents so far.
"When there is an accident, it is something terrible. Mud flows, stones, filters, boilers get clogged, it's hell itself. Accidents often happen, these pipes are old, eternite, as far as I know, harmful to health, since the first pipes here.
In response to an inquiry about what is happening in the village of Thompson, the water operator replied that they had received information about a water shortage in the high area of the settlement. However, there were mostly cottage buildings there and they were inhabited only on Saturdays and Sundays.
An inspection has shown that a depreciated Eternite water pipe is the cause of the water shortage. The company has decided to urgently replace 520 meters of it. From there, they specified that they replaced the water pipe in just three days, despite the difficult terrain with rocky soil and passing by a river. They assure that the tank is full and there is water everywhere.
We checked the repair on site. It turned out that the new water pipe leading to the village can be seen with the naked eye. Plastic pipes are laid on the surface along the road, and pieces of the old Eternite water pipe can be seen on the side of it. However, the section was not completely excavated, but only in the places where the old and new water pipes were connected.
We also reached the reservoir, which, however, is located in a difficult-to-access area and around which the vegetation is apparently rarely cleared.
