< strong>The framework agreement for the recovery of the L-39 aircraft was signed by the former Acting Minister of Defense Dimitar Stoyanov in November 2023, and the specific contract for the aircraft that crashed near "Graf Ignatievo" - a month later. This was stated by Stoyanov himself in "The day begins".
"There are four aircraft scheduled to be refurbished".
He defined as false the statements that nothing is being done for our military aviation. According to him, it is also speculation that the planes are old:
"The F-16 plane on which the president flies with Gen. Clark, was manufactured in 1986, and the plane that crashed - at the end of 1990. In addition, it underwent a major overhaul and returned to Bulgaria only three months ago, Stoyanov said.
For Dimitar Stoyanov, the crash is a cruel blow not only to the Air Force, but to the entire army and our country. According to him, speculations have been circulating in recent days by various politicians who have no concept of aviation technology or combat aviation.
"Investigations of aviation accidents are not done according to a picture - the commission should be allowed to work calmly. For its part, the Ministry of Defense must find the appropriate way to present the reasons to the public - the Bulgarian public must know what happened.
