The Central Election Commission decided at its meeting today to send eight letters to district prosecutors' offices for referral in view of available data for voting more than once in the European Parliament elections. This is transmitted by BTA.
According to the data, 54 people voted more than once. An inspection was also made in the Main Directorate “Civil Registration and Administrative Services” on the case.
The European elections took place between June 6 and 9. The new European Parliament has 720 deputies from the 27 member countries of the European Union, 15 more than the previous parliament. The distribution takes into account the population of the countries, as well as the need for a minimum level of representation of the citizens of the smaller countries. Bulgaria retains its number of MEPs - 17.
