After re-voting: Anton Slavchev remains head of the Anti-Corruption Commission - 1

After a re-voting, the deputies decided that Anton Slavchev should remain in the position of chairman of the Commission for Combating Corruption, reports from BNT.
For about three hours, the deputies debated whether Slavchev should be released as acting chairman of the Commission for Combating Corruption. A total of 96 MPs voted "for" his removal, 91 were "against", seven abstained.

The request was submitted by "Continuing the Change" - "Democratic Bulgaria". The signature for Slavchev's release was also supported by deputies from "Vazrazhdane" and the former representatives of both wings of the disbanded group of "Majesty".

The reasons for his release were the lack of transparency in the activities of the Anti-Corruption Commission and non-implementation of court decisions. It was suggested that the next person in alphabetical order - Antoineta Tsonkova - take the post.
