Bulgaria sets in motion the election of a new chief prosecutor , there has been no proposal for a candidate for two weeks now, but according to voices from the inside, Borislav Sarafov, current acting director, is expected. and former deputy of Ivan Geshev, to be among the candidates for the post, which will be decided on January 16 next year, that is, in 3 months. About the path of the judicial system, about addictions, and what Bulgarians should say "no" - "In focus" is one of the brightest voices in Bulgarian justice - Neli Kutzkova. She is a former president of the Union of Judges, a former member of the Supreme Judicial Council.
Kutskova stated that Borislav Sarafov should not be the chief prosecutor.

The lawyer also commented on the procedure for selecting the number 1 prosecutor in the country. “Purely formally, after the constitutional changes were rejected, the suspended procedure had to be resumed. But the Supreme Judicial Council, in addition to being long out of its mandate, has embarrassed the judicial system. It must be asked whether the Constitutional Court has the right to elect the chief prosecutor and the chairman of the Supreme Court. In my opinion, he should answer that he has no right“, Kutskova also said.
She commented on the case of threats against judge Vladislava Tsarigradska, for which a mentally ill man was accused. According to her, people with mental illness have less protection than others. She believes that they are “washing their hands”, accusing themselves of "bums, Red Pirates" and others. Kutzkova added that people with such problems are deprived of the opportunity to try to prove that they are innocent.

„The rights of the judge are a value for society”, said Kutzkova. And he added that there are many judges in Bulgaria who resist pressure.

„I am worried that something insidious is going on in the judicial system, which there is no way to react to,“, Kutskova pointed out at the end.
