Will the seventh consecutive election lead to a solution to the political crisis? The topic on the air of “Hello, Bulgaria” journalist Veselin Stoynev and political analyst Kristian Shkvarek commented.
When asked whether Bulgarians can tolerate more vote-buying and addictions in politics, Shkvarek replied that “they tolerate it perfectly, as long as they do not go to vote”. “If you don't agree with what is happening, the first thing you do is vote. We don't do it, so we agree”, he stressed.
Stoinev is of the opinion that with their passivity, people make it easier to buy votes. “On under 2 million votes, if you buy 200,000 – 300,000 votes means that a whole parliamentary group will enter the parliament, he stressed. Shkvarek added that the “depreciation“ of the bought vote can happen if people go to the polls.
As for the possibility of forming a government after the elections, Shkvarek believes that this can happen if a coalition is formed between GERB-SDS, ITN and PP-DB. He is of the opinion that none of the parties wants to enter government with any faction of the DPS because of the conflicts at the moment.
Stoynev pointed out that in the governance of the country, apparently “Euro-Atlanticism and anti-corruption cannot be together”, and currently it is said that because of the war in Ukraine and Euro-Atlanticism, a retreat has been made in terms of anti-corruption.
