According to him, Palestine has made "supreme efforts" for the release of the Bulgarians, because they are not soldiers. The Bulgarian sailors who are part of the crew of the "Galaxy Leader" have been in captivity since November last year. According to Ambassador Nasri Khalil Abu Jaish, Palestine has held talks with Iran, Yemen and "Hamas" for the release of the Bulgarians held captive.
"What I would announce here and now is that within this month there will be a meeting between the Palestinian National Authority and "Hamas". The meeting will be held in Cairo and one of our main demands to "Hamas" will be the release of the two Bulgarians", said the Palestinian ambassador, specifying that he could not guarantee what the outcome of the negotiations in Cairo would be.
