KT "Support": AIKB's motives against the increase of the minimum wage are not justified - 1

Confederation of Labor " Support" came out with a special position regarding the complaint that the Association of Industrial Capital in Bulgaria submitted to the Supreme Administrative Court for annulment of the government decree on the increase of the minimum wage to BGN 1,077 from January 1 as illegal.

According to the trade union, the motives of the employer's organization are not justified from the point of view of the current local and international law.

The position has been sent to acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev and to the Ministers of Finance and Labor and Social Policy.

On the grounds of the Association of Industrial Capital that the decree on the new amount of the minimum wage for next year was adopted, despite the objections of one of the parties in the social dialogue and without their arguments being taken into account, by the Confederation of Labor " Support" recall that there is no legal provision that requires complete unanimity in decision-making by the National Council for Tripartite Cooperation.

According to the employers' organization, the act of the Council of Ministers violates the Directive on minimum wages in the European Union and the Convention of the International Labor Organization, which Bulgaria has ratified, and which recommends that the needs of workers and their families be taken into account when determining minimum wages. as well as economic factors and labor productivity. The association wants the repeal of the texts in the Labor Code on the mechanism for determining the lowest remuneration.

From "Support" however, they are adamant that the statement that the decree violates the Convention is not true and that it is not serious to claim that there is a violation of the European directive, which should be reflected in local legislation within a certain period that is currently running.
