" ;Revival" they will not support a freeze on income growth in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the security system. This became clear after a meeting of the leader of the party Kostadin Kostadinov and the deputy Petar Petrov with representatives of the unions in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - SFSMVR and the Union of Prison Employees in the National Assembly.
"The security system must not become hostage to the fetish of entering the Eurozone. The declared intentions of the Ministry of Finance are for an extremely restrictive budget, which will practically kill the Bulgarian economy. There is no way we can support either cutting or freezing the salaries in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which are still outrageously and criminally low", stated Kostadin Kostadinov.
According to Petar Petrov, an attempt will be made through the transitional and final provisions of the Budget Law to cut the salary increase in the Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Defense, which should come into force on January 1, 2025, but "Revival" will oppose any such attempt.
The chairman of the Trade Union Federation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs employees Iliya Kuzmanov assured that the union is ready to defend its demands to the end.
"At the moment we are not just talking about an increase, but about a mechanism that brings calmness to the system. Obviously, not all people's representatives appreciate what a calm system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs means. In our opinion, and also according to "Revival" the emphasis should be precisely on this – calmness in the system in order to have better security for the citizens", said the chairman of the Trade Union Federation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs employees Iliya Kuzmanov.
