„We must clearly realize that zero rates, the reduction of VAT supports the manufacturer. The claim that by reducing the VAT on a good or service, the price will fall, is economically untrue and impossible to happen”.
This was commented on by the president of the Confederation of Bulgarian Trade Unions Plamen Dimitrov to NOVA NEWS.
According to him, a policy of support through tax policy cannot be made. „When we talk about key taxes and VAT, the entire rate must be reduced to 15% - about 4 billion leva loss for the budget. Then we should expect that by 5% they will „fall” all prices”, Dimitrov pointed out.
“You cannot make a policy that concerns people through indirect taxes”, he added.
According to Dimitrov, if a government is formed, measures must be taken as soon as possible to balance revenues and expenses.
“I believe that there is an 80% chance of forming a government in the configuration of GERB-SDF, BSP and ITN, with the support of APS. Many names are also being considered for the position of Minister of Social Policy. I think it will be someone from the BSP, but it will not be a municipal councilor from Sofia”, said the president of the Confederation of Bulgarian Trade Unions.
