A 44-year-old driver who took away the right of way and hit a cyclist on a large boulevard in Plovdiv will have to pay a fine of 1000 leva.
He has entered into an agreement with the prosecutor's office, by which he was released from criminal liability.
On April 16 last year at around 13:00, a "Volkswagen" car was leaving a base on "Shesti Septemvri" 221 Blvd., when it hit a 65-year-old cyclist crossing a pedestrian crossing. The injured person was taken to hospital with serious injuries and life-threatening injuries, reports 24 Chasa.
It has been established that the cyclist suffered moderate bodily injury. It was expressed in diffuse brain trauma, the presence of air in the cranial cavity, fractures of the lower jaw, facial bones and those of the upper jaw, the seventh cervical vertebra and two thoracic vertebrae.
In addition to the fine, the 44-year-old driver must also pay the costs incurred in the course of the case in the amount of 1259.55 leva.
The decision of the Plovdiv District Court, by which the agreement was approved, is final and is not subject to appeal or protest.
