Parvan Simeonov: 55% of Bulgarians do not support the euro, this proves that our society is susceptible to fears - 1

We conducted a sociological survey, which indicates that nearly 55% of those surveyed do not support the euro, 35% - support it, and 10% - have no answer. This result has been observed for years. The reason for this data is the structure of society - aging, poor and susceptible to fears. This was said by the sociologist from “MYARA” Parvan Simeonov in ”Hello, Bulgaria”. According to him, nothing has been done to convince people that there is nothing to fear. And he stressed that over 60% of Bulgarians have a positive attitude towards the European Union.

He also pointed out that they had conducted another poll - whether people support the no-confidence votes. The result is - 60% answer "no", 30% - "yes". The sociologist also said that the result is most likely due to the importers, and the reason is that there is no clear alternative.

“The president has often stood against the government, but that does not make him an alternative. There are several reasons. First, he does not have the tools for such a thing. Second, the theses he advocates are marginal and have always been better discussed by radical formations. Thus, he is pouring grist into their mill, not his own. Lastly - Radev is not on the ground. The two projects that he tried to launch through other people crashed”, said political scientist Hristo Panchugov. In his words, the time for a political project by the head of state has long passed.

He also pointed out that the adoption of the euro is an expert decision that has already been made, and the currency is already part of the Bulgarian monetary policy through the currency board.

Simeonov said that the referendum proposed by Rumen Radev is a move for political positioning and a step towards creating a political entity. In his words, this action is successful. He explained that Kostadin Kostadinov appeals to a small part of radicals, Radev is aimed at both the radicals and the non-voters, those alienated from the system.
