Seventh-graders must be at school at least 30 minutes early. They must bring an identity document and an official note to appear for the exam. The first part of the exams lasts 75 minutes, and the second - 90 minutes. Students with special educational needs are given more time to work - 115 minutes for the first part and 140 minutes for the second, respectively.

The national external assessment in Bulgarian language and literature consists of a total of 26 tasks. 18 of them have four answer options, of which only one is correct. A total of six of the tasks are short, free-answer, one - with an extended one. In the last task, seventh-graders are required to create a text based on an unstudied work of art. The exam content covers the material from the fifth, sixth and seventh grades.

BTA recalls that the national external assessments in the seventh grade begin today. The mathematics exam is on June 20, and the optional foreign language exam will be on June 23.

This year, the national assessments will also include more practical tasks, which test students' skills in applying them when solving specific cases.

The maximum number of points from the exams is 100. The results will be entered in the certificate of completion of the junior high school stage. They are a key element in the grading for admission to eighth-grade high schools, the Ministry of Education and Science notes.

The results of the national external assessments after the seventh grade will be announced by July 1, inclusive.
