The Council of Ministers adopted a decision providing for the expansion and modernization of the base of the Technological School “Electronic Systems“ (TSES) at the Technical University - Sofia, as well as for the creation of a common administrative environment for the structures of the Ministry of Innovation and Growth on the territory of “Sofia Tech Park“.
The decision envisages the transfer of properties between the Ministry of Defense, the State Agency “Archives“ and the Ministry of Innovation and Growth. The goal is a more effective and efficient use of the state property fund, and “Sofia Tech Park“ AD will be provided with the buildings that are no longer needed by the Ministry of Defense. Part of them will be set aside as an innovative educational base for TSES. Subsequently, the Ministry of Defense will receive the premises vacated by the Ministry of Defense and its structures, ensuring the continuation of its effective activity, while the State Agency "Archives" will be provided with a property on which to build an archive storage facility.
The expanded base and its new location within the science and technology park will provide the TUES with the opportunity to expand its admission and improve its material base. In this way, more specialists will be prepared for the needs of the Bulgarian IT industry.
The positioning of educational institutions, high-tech companies, state structures and research teams on the territory of "Sofia Tech Park" will create a direct connection between education, science, business and the state. This will contribute to increasing the effectiveness of public policies in the field of innovation and will accelerate the transfer of knowledge and technology to the economy.
