1 million leva in compensation for properties for the station's break-through  - 1

In the last days of the year, the Plovdiv Municipality will have an additional 1 million leva for the expropriation of properties on the southern side of the Central Station break-through. The money for expropriation in the 2025 budget has run out, and 13 properties needed for the site's connections have still not been expropriated, TrafficNews recalls. Among them is a 5-acre plot of land owned by BDZ, which turns out not to be transferred free of charge or replaced, therefore it will be expropriated, with the order for 350 thousand leva, which must be paid.

The decision to allocate the funds is part of the budget update for 2025, which will be considered at the upcoming session of the Municipal Council on December 18.

Currently, the Plovdiv Municipality is paying huge amounts of money for expropriation there, after the court increased the initial compensation by 5 times. Surely, this one million will not be enough, but at least some of the procedures will be able to be completed. The reason is that if they are delayed by more than 6 months, the owner of the respective property may request a new assessment.

The updated deadline for completing the activities commissioned by NRIC for the connection of Blvd. „Vasil Aprilov“ and Str. „Macedonia“ is the end of June 2026. This is 6 months after the deadline, which was December 31 of this year.

By June 2026, the Municipality of Plovdiv must be partially ready with Stage 1 of its work, which is for the junctions on the streets „Dimitar Talev“, „Macedonia“ and Str. „Kaliakra“, as well as part of Str. „Kukush. Then there will be a temporary traffic organization

The first phase should be ready in the summer, and it includes a change in the overall traffic organization and the directionality of some of the adjacent streets, the implementation of a traffic light system at the intersection of „Dimitar Talev„ Str. with „Kaliakra“ Str., the reworking of part of the roadway, the delivery and installation of vertical horizontal signaling, the value of which is 250,000 leva.

For the implementation of the second phase of the first stage and the second stage, which is planned to be announced for engineering, including the design of the third stage, an estimated bill is currently being prepared so that the public procurement can be launched.

The second stage includes the connection of „Kukush“ Str. with the breakthrough, and the third is the reconstruction and expansion of the street to the overpass “Rhodopi“.
