The longest tunnel in Europe - 1

Scandinavia has always attracted with its avant-garde infrastructure projects. This part of Europe is already in first place in the ranking of the longest tunnels in the world. The Norwegian tunnel Lærdаl will be 24.5 km long and will connect the city of the same name with Årland, and in this way the ferry connection Oslo-Bergen will be realized.

Lærdаl is the second longest tunnel in the world after the WеѕtСоnneх in the авctpalійcĸa city of Sydney. It was built in 5 years, and the investment is worth 113 million USD.

What is interesting about its construction is that psychologists were involved, who took into account the mental load of drivers during their long journey through the tunnel. This is also the reason why the infrastructure facility is divided into four sections, through 3 large mountain caves. The tunnel has parking spaces every 6 kilometers. For better orientation of the drivers, the main tunnel has white lights and the caves have blue lighting with yellow lights around the periphery. The aim is to create the impression of a sunrise.

The interesting thing about the longest tunnel in Europe is that it does not have emergency exits, but instead there are telephones for emergency calls every 250 meters.

Air purity in the seal is ensured in two ways. One is through ventilation and the other – through purification. It is the first tunnel in the world to have an air purification station. It is located in a 100-meter cave.
