A 29-year-old man from Varshets was arrested for domestic violence against a pregnant woman. The victim is in hospital with traumatic injuries. Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated.
At 10:05 p.m. on Wednesday, the doctor on duty from the Montana Emergency Medical Center reported to the police that a pregnant woman with signs of a beating had come in for examination.
Police officers found traumatic injuries, and after talking with her, it became known that she was beaten by the man with whom she lived on a family basis in the “Iztok” neighborhood. in Varshets.
The victim was admitted for treatment at the state hospital “Dr. Stamen Iliev” in Montana. She was found to be six months pregnant and suffering from diabetes for which she was taking insulin.
The man was found and arrested, pre-trial proceedings were initiated against him under Article 131 of the Criminal Code.
The police in Montana told BTA that last year and this year they worked on more than 50 cases of domestic violence in the region, and in most of them court orders were issued for immediate protection.
