The Syrian man who ran over the two policemen was an adult, it is clear from the conclusion of the experts in the case about the death of the uniformed men who died in an accident with a bus with migrants.
“We used several methods to determine the person's age to be in the 18-20 age range, with a higher probability of 19. There is no indication that it is a minor boy,” said the forensic doctor Prof. Dr. Boyan Balev, bTV reported.
Prof. Balev presented the conclusion of the complex forensic medical examination about the age of the bus driver who caused the accident. It is key to the outcome of the case, as it will also determine the amount of the punishment.
The defense challenged the expertise. Syrian Omar Adnan, as well as his lawyer, continue to maintain that he was a minor at the time of the incident. The court accepted the expert opinion.
None of the summoned illegal migrants traveling on the bus appeared in court. And the last ones on the list turned out to have given false addresses after leaving the refugee center in Harmanli.
The incident happened more than two years ago, when two policemen died while chasing a bus full of migrants in Burgas. The vehicle crashed into the patrol car and killed Yordan Iliev and Atanas Gradev on the spot.
