Volleyball Levski President Vladimir Nikolov admitted that he still with the partners they have not decided what selection the team should make if it wins the title and qualifies directly in the groups of the Champions League, reported Sportal.
"The issue with the Champions League is very delicate, but hopefully it will come to our head. We have been discussing with the partners for some time. Even Heber was not guaranteed to make it out of the group, even though he had put together two equal lineups. It is our responsibility, of course, not to expose ourselves. A lot of the guys who are playing now won't have a place in the team. in the Champions League, you can reach the round of 16 with great strain, the quarter-final is something almost unthinkable. I don't know if it's worth bringing in new contestants. They will come, they will play the games, they will take the money, but it means that our children will not touch the Champions League. We have decided next season to rely on the allocations from the school, you know that Simeon (b. a. - Nikolov) is going to the USA. If you ask me if Simeon (b. a. - Palev) and Viktor (b. a. - Zhekov) have the level for the Champions League - they don't. But they can't develop if they don't play. So we haven't made a decision yet," Nikolov said.
"If, in the days before the Super Cup, someone had told me that the final of the championship would be between Levski and CSKA, I would have told him that he was a lunatic and did not know where he was. But this match is a dream come true. We had problems with both clubs during the season at different times. But for me, the return of the title in Sofia after 14 years also coincides with the revival of the national team. It may be a coincidence, but rather it is a regularity that the last title in Sofia coincides with the last strong results of the national team", he also said.
"CSKA are an experienced team - with two equal distributions, with six foursomes, with the best libero in Bulgaria, with a Serbian scoring machine,", he praised the opponent.
"A match between Levski and CSKA is an event. 6-7 years ago we organized such a match in "Arena Armeets". The organization lasted 3 months, there were 6 thousand in the stands with paid tickets, and yet the financial results were negative. There was only 6 days until the first game, there was no way this could physically happen. We cannot provide security, which for this match should be about 500 people - private security guards. I think that in this match there is no place for provocations and excesses, they have no place", added the boss of the "blues", who is a five-time champion with the team as a competitor.
