The head coach of the Bulgarian national volleyball team for women, Lorenzo Micheli, has determined the 14 athletes who will take part in the first tournament of this year's edition of the League of Nations. The selector of the Bulgarian team announced the composition after the control with Belgium, played in the "Hristo Botev" hall in the capital. With it, the preparation of the team, which is leaving for Turkey today, officially ended.
Bulgaria's matches in the League of Nations begin on May 14 and will continue until the 20th. In the first tournament, Bulgaria meets the teams of the Netherlands, Japan, France and Italy.
According to the League of Nations regulations for 2024, the teams will play 12 matches (3 groups of 4 matches each). The seven best teams in the final ranking qualify for the finals (June 20-23) together with the host. In the second week, the Bulgarian women will travel to Arlington, USA (May 28-June 2), where they will play against the USA, Serbia, Germany and the Republic of Korea. The final tournament is in Hong Kong, China (June 11-16), where they will compete against Thailand, the Dominican Republic, China and Brazil.
