June window not ideal for anyone, especially players, says England coach

England coach Thomas Tuchel has called on FIFA to reschedule the June international break, saying the international window does not allow players to get a little longer rest at the end of the season, reports Reuters, quoted by BTA.

"The June window is not ideal for anyone, especially the players", Tuchel told British media.

"Maybe FIFA can adjust the calendar and find another gap in which to schedule the matches in this window, for the good of the players. I'm not so worried about the number of games the players play, but more about the fact that they never have a real three or four weeks' rest... That's the problem," said the German specialist.

England captain Harry Kane also made no secret of his concerns about the well-being of the players, but said the situation seemed bearable with the help of the clubs and the coaches.

"There are arguments from the clubs' point of view to generate more money. And there is also the point of view for the well-being of the players, which shows that you are capable of a lot more without injuries. I don't think anyone listens to the players enough," commented Kane, adding:

"We love playing football, so we will never complain about playing football. If the situation is managed well, with the coaches and the clubs, there are ways to get a little more rest at certain times."
