Dimo Andreev secured the third honor for Bulgaria during the European Athletics Championships for boys and girls under 18, which is being held in Banska Bistrica (Slovakia), reports BTA. The Bulgarian reached the second position in the hammer throw with an attempt of 72.49 meters. The graduate of coach Andrian Andreev achieved the result in his fifth attempt.
European champion in the discipline became the leader in the continental rankings for the season Thomas Williams. The representative of the Republic of Ireland achieved 73.95 meters in his best third attempt.
Bulgaria now has a total of three medals from the Junior and Girls Championships in Slovakia. Radina Velichkova became the champion in the 100 meters with a new national age record of 11.46 seconds, while Hristiyan Kasabov won the bronze in the 110 meters hurdles.
