National men's volleyball league champion Levski won the Bulgarian Super Cup for the second year in a row, BNR reported.
In the final of the four-way tournament in the capital's "Levski Sofia" hall, in which CSKA and Neftohimik 2010 also played, the home team won 3:2 (25:21, 25:16, 23:25, 31:33, 16 :14) game Deya sport Burgas.
"The Blues" had a huge playing superiority throughout the match, and the guests from Burgas had a hard time finding an answer against the varied game organized by Levski distributor Stoil Palev.
Even in the first minutes of the match, Levski led with 8:3 points. Until the end of the first game, the lead of the people of Sofia varied between 3 and 5 points, and despite the good attacks of Yonatas Cardozo Deja, he was unable to get close to his opponent.
The second game started even more convincingly for Levski than the first. Nikolay Zhelyazkov's volleyball players managed to lead by eight points at 12:4, but Bulgarian Cup winner Deya cut the deficit to four after a block by Nikolay Nikolov at 12:16.
However, a new series of points followed for the hosts, who also demonstrated an excellent blocking game. Just like that, they also won the second game with 25:16 to come just one away from the trophy.
Winning this one game, however, turned out to be no easy task. At the beginning of the third game, Deja took a lead of several points, which she managed to maintain until the very end. Levski's volleyball players reduced their deficit to a point or two in the second half of the game, but they never managed to at least equalize.
The fourth game was the most dramatic, which was won by the guests from Burgas with 33:31. Levski's team led 12:9 in the middle and had five match points at the end, but Deja's players used all their experience to pull away.
In the deciding fifth game, the game started again point for point. Levski led by two points at 7:5 after a block against Dimitar Vasilev. Thus, the exchange of fields came at 8:6 in favor of the champions.
However, Deja equalized again at 12:12, which increased the tension even more. But the visitors were never able to make a new break point, with which they could take the lead with their second match point in the game and the "blues" seventh in total. closed the meeting with a shutout for 16:14.
