The record scorer in the history of Slavia was isolated for a very long time in the club with which he achieved his greatest successes on the field. The reason for this was a conflict with the president of the "white" Venceslav Stefanov. Recently, however, the two have warmed up their relationship and the proof is that Zhelyazkov watched several matches of "Ovcha Kupel" in his company.
It is believed that already after the loss against Levski, the coach of Slavia - Zlatomir Zagorcic asked the strong man in the club - Mladen Mihalev, to remove Venci Stefanov and replace him with Zhelyazkov. The mentor of the "white" and the president have been in conflict almost since the appointment of the Serb. According to "Match Telegraph" Stefanov has accepted the idea of Jujo becoming the boss of Slavia, hoping that this will calm the situation in the club as well as among the fans.
The 72-year-old Andrey Zhelyazkov was twice the sports director in Levski in the past, he also held the same position in Lokomotiv Sofia and Lokomotiv Plovdiv. He was also a scout for Feyenoord for Southeast Europe.
