The best Bulgarian basketball player and leader of the Greek Olympiakos Alexander Vezenkov won the award for Most Valuable Player in the third round of the Euroleague, BTA reported.

Vezenkov performed excellently for the victory of Olympiakos over the Italian Armani Olympia Milano with 89:68.

The Bulgarian scored 22 points, of which 3 triples, 7 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals in 24 minutes on the field, collecting an efficiency factor of 31.

This is the second such award in a row for Alexander Vezenkov in the first three rounds of the 2024/2025 season in the Men's Euroleague Basketball.

The winger boasts a total of 11 MVP awards in the tournament, tying him with Mike James and Mirsad Turkchan for third in that tally.

Only Shane Larkin (17 times) and Nando de Colo (16) are ahead of Alexander Vezenkov in the ranking.

Vezenkov's American teammate Shaquille McKissick praised the Bulgarian basketball player for his performance after the victory, reported Sportal.bg.

"Last year we reached the Final Four, but we lost. As soon as I found out that Sasha Vezenkov was coming back, everything was like at the beginning," McKissick said in an interview with the specialized publication Eurohoops.net.

"He is my favorite player from the Euroleague. Unfortunately, Vassilis Spanoulis has to relegate to second position. I'm his biggest fan," added the 34-year-old American guard with an Azerbaijani passport.
