Borimirov: We have to breathe down Ludogorets' neck after the derby; Pifa: Mentality will decide the matchMy - 1

Levski CEO Daniel Borimirov was a guest on the club television podcast, taking part in the show "Levski's voice", Topsport reported.

Borimirov stated that the responsibility for the way the club goes is his, he also revealed his expectations from the upcoming derby with CSKA on Saturday.

"The mood in the team is uplifted. All football players are looking forward to the match. For some players, it will be their first derby match. Each of them is looking forward to not only playing in this game, but also to winning. The purpose of the meeting is to stop the "war" at the stadium. These matches should turn into something good for the fans, not a war. It is unacceptable to launch flares in the world we live in. The idea was to sit the two clubs down with our supporters and say that there will be no flares and people will be safe," said Daniel Borimirov.

"I hope this match, and the next ones between the two clubs, will pass peacefully and quietly. Every single fan is aware of the danger of being hit by a flare. It will be good for them to understand this thing and the buffer zones can be reduced, which will help to have more people at the derby," he added.

"I remember the memorable victory of 1994 with 7:1, three days later my first child - my daughter Julia - was born. On May 13, 1998, we had a remarkable 5-0 win over CSKA, then my son was born. Both of my children were born on memorable dates for our favorite team. In my career, I have two matches with two goals against CSKA", admitted Borimirov.

"For me, every match of Levski played against CSKA is important. And when you win, it's always good. When you lose, it's not good. When we set ourselves high goals, such as participation in the European tournaments and, God forbid, we try to breathe down Ludogorets's neck until the end, one such victory comes through. Anyone who defends Levski's colors should know that he always plays to win," commented the executive director of the "blues".

"I will allow myself to give an assessment after the end of the championship, because I see it as a marathon. We had a good start, I hope we can continue with the good games to confirm the good game we showed. I hope to please our supporters with the long-awaited title. There has always been tension in Levski. When you come to Levski, you have to play in every game to win. The new players must play and realize Stanislav Genchev's requirements. We will need a little more time to perfect the new game plan. This whole thing takes time, but if we are persistent and dedicated in training and matches, success will come," he stated.

"It is my responsibility which way Levski goes," said the executive director of Levski - Daniel Borimirov.

The former CSKA goalkeeper and Levski junior - Ivaylo Petrov-Pifa - believes that the derby between the "red" and "the blue" will be won by the team that has a stronger psyche.

"I hope it will be a good match. Everything in this derby rests on the mentality of the players. We saw that against the Black Sea CSKA entered a little timidly. It's as if he took the field not to lose this match, but to win it. This should change for CSKA players. This mentality and weak psyche must change. Every player on this team must have a winning mentality and a tough mentality. This applies to absolutely everyone. If they show this on the field against Levski, they will win. But to be honest, I don't see that in the last few games. The mentality of the players is not at the required level. They are not permanent. In one match they play well and in another - not. In one match they play hard and win, and then they play a few mediocre matches and in some of them they don't even come out victorious, but defeated. This needs to be worked on. He has had this for several years.

In the derby, that team with a stronger mentality will win! 20% is talent and 80% is psyche! This match is very different from all the others. On the one hand, it was good that the break came just now, but on the other hand, it's not. It's a derby and even if you're not in optimal shape, you have to go out and give it your all from the first minute to the last. That's how it's played in these matches. It's all psyche. Even if I'm not in optimal shape, nothing can stop me from fighting to the end for the victory. In general, I expect to see full stands and an incredible atmosphere, as befits such a derby. I hope CSKA will win with will, zest, desire and character. Ranking is not important. I will be at the stadium supporting the boys and Aleksandar Tomasz. It is good that the weather will be good and the stadium will be full. What more does a football player need? Nothing! Every single athlete prepares and waits for these moments with impatience," Pifa told "Mach Telegraf", quoted by Topsport.

The former coach and teacher at the National Academy of Sciences - Mihail Madanski - is adamant that Alexander Tomas and Stanislav Genchev would hardly surprise each other in the derby.

Nevertheless, the football specialist considers the slight increase in tension through the statements of the two mentors from ten days ago to be quite in the order of things. However, Madanski is adamant that there is no negative meaning in the spoken words.

"We have been waiting for this derby for so long and the two coaches managed to heat up the passions with their speeches and their in-quote nagging, which I accept as absolutely normal. And knowing them both, I know that what they said in the media they didn't mean badly. They defend a certain idea, they defend their club teams. This is absolutely normal for me", Mihail Madanski was categorical to Diema sport, quoted by Topsport.

"These are two coaches with a radically different profile and with radically different conceptions of the football game. Assuming that Tomas is a staunch supporter of possession as much as possible, Genchev said it himself that he wants every attack to end after the 5th and 6th pass. The difference between the two in this regard is huge", he also shared.

"I don't expect there to be any additional surprises here from the point of view that these days the teams and the coaches know each other very well. They have good analyst teams. I expect the two of them to change something. I don't expect so much tension along the Tomas-Genchev axis as coaches, I'm sure they will shake hands and hug each other, this is absolutely normal in the relationships of mature people."

What does he expect from the game between Levski and CSKA?

"My expectations are rather a slight change in CSKA's game in terms of the way the game is played. I think that the way Levski's game will be structured, with two strikers who know how to press high in the opponent's half, especially Alex Kolev is very suitable, then Tomas and CSKA will not allow themselves so many risky plays of the ball in phase of building the attack and will try with a little more surprising and direct passes to reach the opposing half."
