Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes does not know whether Florian Wirtz will be available to the German champions for the First Bundesliga match against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday, BTA reported.
Wirtz was substituted at half-time in Germany's 1-0 win over the Netherlands in the Nations League on Monday with an ankle injury. According to Leverkusen's statement, it is a "minor injury".
"We didn't say he was out, we just explained why he was replaced. He did not practice yesterday and underwent treatment. We'll see how it develops and whether he'll be available," Rolfes told Sky TV.
He also talks about the rumors that Florian Wirtz may leave "aspirins" next summer.
"There has been a lot of speculation, but the relationship with him and his family is very open and full of trust. The focus has always been on what is good for his development in relation to Bayer, which is why we are not so concerned about him being sold or not. Florian is here. We want to work with him, use his qualities and be successful together with him", said Simon Rolfes.
